Hillsborough, Mediterranean Hillside Garden
Hillsborough walkway

The European/American clients, art collectors with a rare appreciation for simplicity, share a love of all things Mediterranean, most especially Italy.

This garden was constructed under the most difficult conditions imaginable (the El Nino winter of 1997-98). The water feature was designed to be a part of the system of retaining walls, with an upper reservoir that is cut by five spillways, which then in turn feed the deeper koi pond at its base.
